This painting became a passion piece to me taking me over 100 hours of work to catch the right atmosphere and most importantly the inner struggle within the fighters reaction to a hand of friendship from his trainer, Based in the flat cap and trilby era of the 1930's it captures perfectly the dark and smokey surroundings of boxing match in days gone by when hardened souls fought for the mere glory of a win alowing them hold their battered and bruised heads high for another day.
